East Midlands Temporary Welfare Facility

Temporary site welfare facilities benefit from Klargester Commercial Sewage Treatment Plant and Grease Separator solutions

Location:

East Midlands

Project Completion:

December 2019

Renowned for providing the complete wastewater treatment system for a vast array of applications, when flexibility is required to manage the needs of temporary on-site accommodation or welfare facilities, the Klargester product range can provide the perfect solution.

East Midlands Gateway is a three-year project to create a Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) at the heart of the United Kingdom’s transport network. Being a long-term project, the main site contractor required a suitable off mains installation to serve the temporary site welfare facilities which would include a commercial canteen, catering for up to 200 staff.

The site was very conscious of its environmental responsibilities and in selecting a solution which would reduce on going costs. Having considered the option of a series of large cesspools which would have required regular tankering services, the contractors turned to Klargester for advice about it's Klargester commercial sewage treatment plant range.

The site contractors opted to install the Klargester Commercial BioDisc BL sewage treatment plant, plus a 2,000 litre Klargester Grease Separator to manage the process of separating fat and grease from the wastewater flow from the canteen area, reducing the potential for blockages.  The solution also allowed capacity should the number of contractors on site over the expected project period be increased.

Extensive infrastructure works are currently underway running close to J24 and J24A of the M1. The project was completed by the end of 2019.
