If your home or commercial property cannot connect to the mains sewage system for reasons of distance or topography (ie. it is classed as off-mains drainage) then installing a Klargester Hillmaster pump station will provide you with the perfect solution.
Hillmaster pump stations quickly and easily remove all your sewage, effluent, and any excess surface water, giving you complete peace of mind.
What is a Pump Station?
Pump stations are the most specified solutions for off-mains properties, ahead of even sewage treatment plants and septic tanks.
These underground pumping tanks (some with 24-hours storage) may be all you need for your property to reach the mains sewer, or they may be part of a package of solutions for more complex sites. For example, an effluent pump-set may be required to make a septic tank or sewage treatment plant work effectively if the outlet level is too low to enable gravity flow to the discharge point or soak-away. A pump set may also be required for a sewage treatment plant or septic tank if the watercourse is likely to flood, in order to prevent backflow.
Pump stations may also be part of a sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS), linked to attenuation tanks where the flow of water from the buried tank passes into the pump station to be released at the required rate into a shallower outlet.
Why Choose Klargester Hillmaster Pump Stations?
Klargester is synonymous with the development of market-leading wastewater product ranges that deliver outstanding performance for many years.
We have been manufacturing wastewater products since the mid 1960s. Since then, our pump stations have been the go-to choice for wastewater professionals across the world. They have been installed in tens of thousands of buildings, providing safe, extremely reliable, low-maintenance, and very effective wastewater management solutions.
After a brief hiatus, we are rebranding all our products as the Hillmaster pump station range.
Many of our customers will remember Hillmaster pump stations as a well-known and very popular Klargester pump station range in the early 2000s. Since the range was discontinued, we have received many requests to revive the original name. We hope that customers will be pleased to discover that we’re bringing back such an iconic, much-missed brand.

Emergency 24-hour storage requirements have become a mainstay for most pump station applications.
If there is a power failure that stops your pump from working, then your site will be protected from any sewage and wastewater overflow. This overflow might otherwise pollute the immediate surrounding area (including ground water) in contravention of drainage regulations. Instead, it is stored safely within the pump until power is restored.
New to Off-Mains Drainage?
